Marcus Miller Band: “Jean Pierre” Live

Today is Marcus Miller’s birthday, and we’re celebrating by listening to all kinds of music with Marcus (of which, there’s a lot to choose from).

Here’s an epic video of Marcus with his band performing Miles Davis’ “Jean Pierre” at North Sea Jazz in 2011.

It starts out with such a fantastic groove and starts building, with quotes from Prince’s “When Doves Cry” and eventually leading to a solo battle between Marcus and saxophonist Alex Han.
