Warwick Introduces Stu Hamm Signature Bass
Warwick introduced a new signature bass for Stuart Hamm during the NAMM Show this year. The new model is based on the company’s Streamer with extended contouring and a deeper cutaway for improved access to the higher register.
The Stu Hamm Signature bass is built with an alder body and five-piece birdseye maple and rosewood neck. Its neck has illuminated side dots and is topped with a rosewood fingerboard holding 24 jumbo frets.
Warwick fits the bass with a pair of EMG pickups in a MM/J configuration matched to an active EMG 2-band preamp. Hardware includes Warwick’s Just-A-Nut III brass nut, a 2-piece solid brass bridge, and Warwick tuners, which are tricked out with a Hipshot D-tuner and wooden knobs.
The Warwick Stu Hamm Signature Bass is handcrafted in Germany. It carries a MAP of $7,399.

Warwick
Mr Hamm doesn’t appear to be very loyal when it comes to signature series basses. In 2011 it was a Washburn one. Prior to that it was the Fender Urge. Have I missed any?
I think Hamm is loyal to basic concept of what he wants his bass to be. He will just anyone build it.
Well, his signature models were rather different with each iteration.
Kubicki went under, so that’s why he went to Fender. Fender is extremely fickle with their signature endorsements and from what I understand dropped his model. (I mean, who in their right mind would go from Fender to Washburn or ESP, like Frank Bello did?)
I gather Stu went to Washburn because frankly they were the first guy to offer him free basses or something. It seems like as soon as Warwick showed up, he jumped ship. Warwick isn’t overprotective of the names they endorse – they can have endorsements with anybody they wish (Rob Trujillo anybody?).
$7,399? seriously?!
the price is ridiculous for what is pretty much a standard streamer with different pups… no fancy woods used, no special features except a slightly different body shape, no nothing… it’s pretty normal to find ww ltd. editions for 3-3500 dollars in music stores in europe, and they’re a lot more interesting imo..
Should be 32″ and not $7,400
That price for… what? I don’t see “cast from solid gold” in the specs…
I have the washburn custom shop model SHBH3 model and it’s pretty much the same and the wiring is a Little redundant, volumen, volumen plus pan???the wooden tuners it’s just a bit to much unnecesary luxury, the washburn used to sell in $2,500 dollars i thinks that’s a fair price and includes the piezo system which the warwick doesn’t.
Would still take a Kubicki any day.
Sounds nothing special, to be honest sounds like a cheap bass
The only true signature model should be Stu Zender, cause he is the only guy that really played them for many years…
