The 1975 Releases Sophomore Album
British art-pop band The 1975’s second album’s title is a mouthful: I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it.
The group, which formed when its members were teenagers, features Ross MacDonald on bass, and has sold more than 1 million singles in the United States and 1 million albums worldwide.
The band’s sound is, as a Stereogum review of the album puts it, “is basically some fusion of what Duran Duran, INXS, and George Michael might’ve made if they’d grown up with access to MP3 blogs.”
See if you agree as you check out “The Sound” on Saturday Night Live (first video) and “Love Me” (second video):
I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it is available on CD, vinyl and as a digital download (iTunes and Amazon MP3).
