Ibanez Unveils Limited Edition SR Premium Bass
Ibanez is making a special run of heir SR Premium bass for 2016. The SR5SMLTD Premium is a five-string model that will sport a spalted maple top, birdseye maple fingerboard, and birdseye maple pickup covers to exude what the company calls a rare exotic charm.

As a member of the Premium line, the bass carries several other upgrades from standard SR models. Its five-piece wenge and bubinga neck is reinforced with KTS titanium rods while its 24 frets are given a fret edge treatment in the Premium workshop. Other features include a pair of Nordstrand Big Single pickups, a custom active/passive 3-band EQ with a mid frequency switch, and a Mono-rail V bridge.
The Ibanez SR5SMLTD Premium Bass is expected to ship at the end of September with a street price of $1,799.99.
