Ibanez Unveils the BTB845V Bass

Ibanez BTB845V Bass

Back in 2015, Ibanez introduced a five-string bass to their Bass Workshop Series they called the Volo. The bass featured a shorter 33-inch scale and was tuned E to C for a higher range. Now Ibanez has brought the model back as the BTB845V.

The spirit of Volo lives on through the new bass has a few differences in materials. It’s built with a graphite-reinforced five-piece maple and walnut neck. Ibanez uses ash and mahogany for the body wings while giving it a poplar burl top finished in an Antique Brown stain. A poplar burl finger ramp sits between a pair of Bartolini BH2’s matched to a 3-band EQ. Other features include MR5S bridge with 17mm string spacing, a jatoba fretboard, and abalone dot inlays.

The Ibanez BTB845V will be shipping in May with a street price of $999.99.
