Fender has refreshed the Squier Classic Vibe Series with several decade-specific models of their flagship instruments. For bassists, that includes the Classic Vibe ’60s Jazz Bass, the Classic Vibe ’60s Precision Bass, the Classic Vibe ’70s Jazz Bass, and the Classic Vibe Bass VI.

The band known as the Blues Beatles (with Bruno Falcão on bass) has been super popular around here. Turns out the guys behind that band also have another: Alabama Johnny. Here’s their performance of “Please Don’t Waste My Time.”

LCD Soundsystem has returned with their third live album called “Electric Lady Sessions.” The album was recorded at the iconic Manhattan studio and features live in-studio versions of songs from their 2017 album, “American Dream,” as well as fan favorites and three covers.

I got to catch bassist Remco Hendrix playing a the Duvoisin booth at NAMM, and it led me to check out more of the company’s instruments. This week we’re looking at their Fat Standard Bass “Satin Prince of Olivewood,” which was part of a limited run of instruments featuring olive tops.
