Solo Bass Night Series Launching This November

Ariane Cap and Josh Cohen have teamed up to create Solo Bass Night, a performance series that features and promotes solo bass music. The concerts have their roots from an event nearly 15 years ago.
“The founding of ‘Bass Solo Night at the Freight and Salvage’ occurred in the forums at TalkBass.com in 2005 (probably in Michael Manring’s forum) where Jean Beaudin, Jeff Schmidt, Michael Manring, and Dave Grossman discussed it as an idea,” the Solo Bass Night website explains.
The series will kick off with two concerts in California. On November 7th, a performance at The Sound Room in Oakland, California will feature Manring, Cohen, Cap, Kai Eckhardt, Charles Berthoud, and special guest Paul Hanson. The next solo bass night will be November 14th at Gruv Gear Headquarters in Los Angeles. That night will include Cohen, Cap, Stu Hamm, Norm Stockton, Kai Kurosawa, Jayme Lewis, Johnnie Gilmore, and special guest Paul Hanson. Each night will have raffles with prizes ranging from cables up to a Kala UBass.
Solo Bass Night is an ongoing series and wants your input. If you’re interested in performing, recommending an artist, or organizing a show, be sure to get in touch with them. For more information, visit the Solo Bass Night website.
