The Strandberg Project Releases Tenth Album
Twenty-five years after his first album, Jan-Olof Strandberg has released his tenth album called “X”. The bassist describes his latest work as “more from the progressive world but at the same time some more Jazz is featured.”
Primus “A Tribute to Kings” Tour Officially Postponed
Primus has officially postponed their upcoming Rush tribute tour, which was also set to feature Wolfmother, The Sword, and Battles. Luckily, it seems the band is still committed to making it happen once quarantine restrictions are lifted.
Bass of the Week: RF Instruments Precision 52 Type Bass
Luthier Roberto Franceschini of RF Musical Instruments paid homage to a classic in one of his latest builds. The drool-worthy bass, which he calls a great love, is modeled after a ’52 P-bass.
Panem: As Far As I Know (The Lockdown Sessions)
Emeline Fougeray often shares some pretty impressive videos on Facebook of her playing along to tunes. She’s also part of the band Panem. This video is the band’s second one in their “Lockdown Sessions,” offering up a chill vibe and some tasty bass lines throughout.
Liam Wilson and Azusa Return with “Loop of Yesterdays”
Azusa has released their second album, “Loop of Yesterdays”, which follows up on 2018’s “Heavy Yoke”. The band consists of Dillinger Escape Plan bassist Liam Wilson, Extol’s Christer Espevoll and David Husvik, and Sea + Air vocalist Eleni Zafiriadou.

Jason Raso has published a new instructional book called “Soloing on Electric Bass: A Chord Tone Approach”. The 52-page lays out a method for improving your solos while improving your chord spelling and fingerboard knowledge.
Mayones Now Shipping the Jabba Rev 5 Bass
Mayones has expanded its Jabba line of basses with a new reverse headstock model. The Jabba Rev 5 is a five-string bass, built with a profiled swamp ash body, wenge core, and an eye poplar top that comes in three transparent finishes.
Charles Berthoud: Quarantine Collab
Charles Berthoud asked musicians from around the world to send him recordings of them playing in E minor at 120 bpm. He received 300 videos, watched them all, then arranged them into this tune. He calls it “The Biggest EVER Quarantine Collab.”
