Sheptone Announces the Miles Bass Pickup

Sheptone has unveiled the Miles Bass Pickup, a single-coil design that “goes the distance” for vintage tone. It was created to accurately reproduce the tone of the original Fender 1951 Precision Bass, they write.
“Sheptone’s construction begins with vintage-accurate fiberboard flatwork and Alnico 5 magnets for excellent performance. Plain enamel magnet wire, 42 AWG, is scatter wound for great harmonics and string-wrapped to protect the single coil. Average resistance is 7.32kohms,” Sheptone explains.
The pickup was named after the 4-year old son of Nashville bassist Steve Cook. Miles was diagnosed with hearing loss and recently received cochlear implants. As such, Sheptone is donating proceeds from the sale of the Miles pickup to further enhance research and education in hearing loss.

The Sheptone Miles Bass Pickup is available now for $109.
