This week we’re checking out an incredible bass by Algan Guitars. The company shared photos of their latest creation, stating “the twisted infinite fingerboard meets multiscale fretless for the first time in the world!”

KEXP is always a great source for musical discovery. This one hit my list this morning, with the band Flyying Colours performing “White Knuckles” live for KEXP at Home. Bassist Melanie Barbaro lays down the foundation.

Iron Maiden’s seventeenth studio album, “Senjutsu”, is finally available. It marks their second-ever double album and the first since 1998’s “Virtual XI” to feature multiple songs written by Steve Harris alone.

Jazz bassist Baron Browne, who performed with Vital Information and Jean Luc Ponty, has passed away. He was 66 years old. Ponty remembered Browne on his Facebook page.

Ismael Alcina sent in his latest video, which is a bass arrangement for Paco de Lucia’s “Casilda”. The song, which was released on the 1987 album “Siroco”, originally had no bass part. Here, Alcina adds a wonderful complementary bass line.

It’s been over three months since David Ellefson was fired from Megadeth. Aside from making a statement about the situation, he has been totally silent on social media – until now. Now the bassist is teasing what seems to be a new project.
