In this “Keep It Groovy” lesson, we take a moment to discuss backing tracks and the positives or negatives they provide when learning the bass. They’ve become omnipresent in the world of online learning and continue to get more sophisticated with the development of AI.

In some ways, they can truly be an asset to learning the instrument, especially when we’re trying to focus on a very specific concept. However, if we don’t pick the right moment to move away from backing tracks and focus on actual recordings, we’ll definitely find ourselves at a musical disadvantage.
