One of the busiest bassists on the scene, Leland Sklar, kept it going in 2023. The Immediate Family was the focus of a new documentary in 2023, and they also announced a new album. Leland also recorded an incredible video with Jackson Browne and Playing For Change and toured with Lyle Lovett And His Large Band.
He lands at #6 on this year’s list.

At long last, the documentary “Immediate Family” is available to stream. Denny Tedesco’s latest film tells the story of a legendary group of session musicians that shaped the music of the ’70s, ’80s, and beyond - including Leland Sklar.
