Leland Sklar and The Immediate Family Announce New Album, “Skin In The Game”

The Immediate Family: Skin In The GameWith their documentary getting released in December, the legendary sessions musicians of The Immediate Family have announced their next studio album. Skin In The Game, which marks the band’s second full-length studio album, will be released on February 16th and feature the group’s incredible dynamics.

“The Immediate Family’s unrivaled musical chemistry comes from years of playing together,” says bassist Leland Sklar. “We all know each other backward and forward and can play to each other’s strengths in ways that other groups can’t always get to.”

Sklar and the rest of the band (Danny Kortchmar, Waddy Wachtel, Russ Kunkel, and Steve Postell) played on a majority of the hits from the ’70s and on. They were the musicians for artists like Keith Richards, Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor, Carole King, Jackson Browne, Stevie Nicks, Don Henley, Billy Joel, David Crosby and Joni Mitchell, and more.

Skin In The Game reinforces their own musical identity with thirteen original songs plus one cover of “The Toughest Girl in Town” by Sparks, which happens to be the first release from the album.

Skin in the Game will be our February 16th. The documentary on their musical journey, called Immediate Family, will be released in theaters for special one-night screenings on December 12 and will be available everywhere on December 15.
