Sterling By Music Man Introduces Sterling Bass, Updates StingRay Short Scale for 2024

Sterling By Music Man 2024 Sterling Bass and StingRay Short Scale Basses

Sterling By Music Man was at NAMM this year to introduce a new bass and revamp a classic. First up is the limited edition Sterling Bass, which has been added to the SBMM roster as a limited edition bass. The Sterling SB14 is described as a “passive powerhouse” fitted with an Alnico V parallel humbucker for vintage-style warmth.

“It’s the perfect choice for those who love the retro look and feel of the original Music Man Sterling model while favoring the classic charm and playability of a passive bass,” the company states.

Available in a natural finish, the SB14 is built with a swamp ash body and a hard maple neck. Other features include open gear tuners, black dot fret markers, and 22 medium frets.

Also for 2024, SBMM has updated the StingRay Short Scale bass to have a roasted maple neck. The bass has a 30-inch scale and features passive electronics with a neodymium humbucker.

The Sterling By Music Man Sterling SB14 Bass has a street price of $799.99, while the StingRay Short Scale costs $599.99.

I love the sound quality on the earnie ball and stingray as well! Great for funkier bass sound!

It would be nice if you would include if left handed models will available. I’m sure the manufacturer knows if they will make a lefty model.
