Earthquaker Devices and Death By Audio Relaunch Time Shadows Pedal

Back in 2020, Earthquaker Devices and Death By Audio collaborated for a limited edition pedal called the Time Shadows Subharmonic Multi-Delay Resonator. The highly sought-after unit is now back in production with some new features.

“I was thrilled about this project, especially since we’ve grown close with the EarthQuaker crew and have been huge fans of their wild sound manipulators for years. [EQD’s Jamie Stillman] and I had often talked about collaborating on some designs, so when Jamie asked me to, I was immediately on board,” says Oliver Ackermann, Founder of Death By Audio.

The Time Shadows will now be a standard production model. Its revamped version will also include a third delay mode, a user-assignable expression control, and six preset slots to save your settings. Its three modes are central to the pedal’s sounds.

“The EQD Mode is an envelope-controlled sub-octave filter delay, the ALL NEW !¡ Mode is a dual delay where each repeat simultaneously shifts up and down with each regeneration, and the DBA Mode is a multi-delay regenerating filter,” the company shared. “All three sounds are designed to be completely complementary and suitable for every style and genre of music.”

Although the Time Shadows will be a standard issue pedal, the companies are celebrating the launch with a Cyberpunk Edition in a black enclosure with custom graphics that will only have 500 units.

The Time Shadows is available now for $199.
