Fender Unveils the Player II Series Basses

Since Fender launched the Player Series in 2018, it’s been one of their most successful lines. They expanded on it with the Player Plus models, but now they’ve revamped it with the Player II Series.
“Available now, the Player II Series takes the best of its predecessor’s features and improves them with upgraded specs like rosewood fingerboards, modern ‘C’ necks with rolled edges, and new vintage colors from the vaults exemplifying the innovation, culture, community, and lifestyle synonymous with Fender Electrics,” the company states.
The Player II Series includes three bass models: the Player II Precision Bass, the Player II Jazz Bass, and the Player II Mustang Bass.
Fender says the new P-Bass has the instrument’s timeless charm, “but under the hood it’s primed for today’s players.” It’s built with an alder body that comes in an array of colors: 3-color sunburst, Birch Green, Aquatone Blue, Hialeah Yellow, Black, Polar White, and Coral Red. Its maple neck has a maple fingerboard (rosewood for the white finish) with a 9.5-inch radius. The Player Series Alnico V Split-Coil pickup is controlled with Volume and Tone knobs.
The Player II Jazz is built with similar materials, but, of course, comes with a pair of Alnico V Single-Coil pickups. It comes in 3-Color Sunburst, Birch Green, Aquatone Blue, Hialeah Yellow, Black, Polar White (Maple Fingerboard), Coral Red.
The new Mustang again has similar features but with a P/J pickup set fitted in its iconic body shape. ” The 3-way toggle switch lets you easily dial in everything this versatile pickup set has to offer, while an adjustable 4-saddle bridge, single-groove steel saddles and open-gear tuners ensure precise tuning stability for the flexibility to explore endless sonic possibilities,” Fender shares. It comes in Hialeah Yellow, Polar White (Maple Fingerboard), Aquatone Blue, 3-Color Sunburst, and Coral Red.
The Fender Player II Series Basses all have a price point of $799. The Precision and Jazz are available now with the Mustang Bass Coming in August.
