Solar Guitars Introduces Ron Broder Signature Bass

Solar Guitars A1.4 Coroner Ron Broder Signature Bass

Coroner bassist and vocalist Ron Broder has a new signature instrument from Solar Guitars called the A1.4 Coroner. The news comes as the Swiss metal mainstays are working on their first album in over 30 years.

“[Ron Broder] co-founded the band in 1983 alongside guitarist Tommy Vetterli and drummer Marquis Marky. Coroner quickly became one of the most technically proficient and innovative acts in the metal scene, blending elements of progressive metal, jazz fusion, and classical influences into their sound,” Solar Guitars shares. “Broder’s unique bass playing and distinct vocal style were pivotal to the band’s identity, especially during their classic albums R.I.P., Punishment for Decadence, and No More Color.”

The new bass is built with neck-through construction, complete with a swamp ash body, a three-piece maple neck, and an ebony fingerboard. It’s fitted with 24 stainless steel frets marked with Luminlay side dots and a Solar inlay at the 12th fret.

“I love the tight neck and it has the perfect body where my arm can rest comfortably,” Broder says.

Other features include a pair of Seymour Duncan SMB-4D pickups with coil tap switches, a Seymour Duncan STC-2P preamp, and a Hipshot USA bridge.

The Solar Guitars A1.4 Coroner has a trans dark blue gloss finish and an international price point of $1,499.
