Built for Punk Players: Ferner Guitars’ Cadet Bass is Our Bass of the Week

Ferner Guitars of Memphis, Tennessee, offers a wide variety of instruments. Their basses lean on old school vibes, including the Cadet Bass. The short-scale four-string was designed to appeal to the punk genre and players with smaller hands.
The Cadet Bass’s body is crafted with two pieces of choice alder while its neck is a three-piece laminate of flamed maple and mahogany. The rosewood fingerboard holds 20 frets that are marked with dot inlays.
Its simple electronics package includes a Lollar Thunderbird bridge pickup with volume and tone controls. Other features include a hand-cut bone nut, Hipshot Ultra-light tuners, a Hipshot Supertone bridge, and your choice of celluloid pickguard.
Ferner builds to order so that you can customize the color tint, hardware color, and more.
