Dingwall Unveils 2025 Kyle Konkiel Signature Combustion With New Electronics and Matte Army Green Finish

Dingwall Kyle Konkiel Signature Combustion

Back in 2023, Dingwall Guitars teamed up with Bad Wolves bassist Kyle Konkiel for a signature Combustion model. They’ve teamed up once again to reintroduce the design for 2025, with a limited-edition run of 100 basses. This year’s model does more than change the color scheme.

“The original Lamborghini-inspired Kyle Konkiel Signature model launched back in 2023 with a custom color-shift finish, Nordstrand EQ and an additional pickup configuration,” Dingwall explains on their website. “We’ve since been working with Kyle to put a new spin on his custom axe, substituting the color-shift finish for Matte Army Green, upgrading the hardware to include our new Minimalist bridge, and thanks to the addition of an EMG 3-band preamp, the second incarnation is now ready to tell a new story.”

The Kyle Konkiel Signature Combustion is crafted with an alder body, a five-piece maple neck, and a rosewood fingerboard. It also features Ralph Novak’s multi-scale neck and fanned-fret system with a 34–37-inch scale spread across its five strings.

As noted by the company, the 2025 edition is fitted with an EMG 3-band active EQ to tailor the sound of its three FD3n pickups. Konkiel worked with Dingwal to fit the pickup system with a simple selector switch for the middle pickup, allowing a total of eight pickup combinations.

“One of my favourite things about this model is the pickup wiring,” the bassist states. “Dingwall typically use a four-way rotary control, but we’ve added a toggle switch that also engages the middle pickup in any one of the existing pickup configurations. This bass can get you wherever you need to go in terms of tone, regardless of what genre you’re playing.”

Other features include 24 “banjo-size” frets, Hipshot Ultralite tuners, and a Minimalist bridge. Hear more about the bass from Konkiel himself:

As part of the Combustion series, the Kyle Konkiel Signature Combustion features hybrid manufacturing between China and Dingwall’s shop in Canada. It will be available soon for a TBD price point.

So his one in the video doesn’t have a pickguard – yet the one being sold does? Why make it different?
