Ibanez Mode Series Debuts at NAMM 2026 with New Delta Pickups and Hexa-Mid Preamp

Ibanez Mode Series Basses

Ibanez made waves at the 2026 NAMM Show this year with the brand new Mode Series, which they describe as bridging the gap between traditional sounds and modern playability. The lineup includes eight models centered around a new electronics package.

“The Delta pickups are a split-coil design that provides the traditional brightness and cut of J-style pickups while offering full hum-canceling operation,” Ibanez writes. “Pairing them with the Sonictech S Preamp delivers incredible tonal versatility with a three-band EQ, master tone control, and the proprietary Hexa-Mid system that offers six distinct bands of mid-range.”

The Mode Series is split up into three ranges. The MDM1000, MDM1005, and MDM1006 are four-, five-, and six-string basses with an alder body and a solid-color finish: Midnight Ocean Arctic Pearl Matte or Pearl White. The MDM1300 and MDM1305 feature an ash body with a roasted maple fretboard. A simple Natural Stained Amber Burst lets the wood grain pop. Finally, the MDM1600, MDM1605, and MDM1606 step things up with an alder body and poplar burl top.

Other common features include a slim C-neck profile, Ibanez Aero-light tuners, and Luminescent side dot inlays. The MDM1300 and MDM1600 models also ship with a detachable ramp.

The Ibanez Mode Series Basses will be shipping this month with prices ranging from $1,199.99 to $1,599.99.
