Jackson Guitars announced the new JS Series Spectra line of basses at the 2019 Winter NAMM Show. Each of the basses feature a new offset poplar Spectra body shape that has a large upper horn for evenly distributing weight.

The groove machine known as Mike Zabrin’s Funktastic has returned with a video for their new single, “My O My,” and it’s a killer. After kicking off with a New Orleans-inspired beat, the song drops into a slower, sultry groove with vocals, only to return to the upbeat stroll.
The Get Right Band Releases “Live in Asheville”
The Get Right Band has released their first live album, aptly entitled “Live in Asheville.” Recorded at the Asheville Music Hall, the hour-long album includes some previously unreleased songs, as well as a cover of The Buggles’ “Video Killed The Radio Star.”
Ashdown Engineering Unveils the CL-310-DH Bass Cabinet
Ashdown Engineering introduced an interesting new bass cabinet called the CL-310-DH. Rated at 450 watts at 8 ohms, the cabs were inspired by vintage British PA systems and feature a 3×10" configuration with dual high-frequency horns.
Linda Ronstadt with Bob Glaub: You’re No Good (Live In Hollywood 1980)
Linda Ronstadt released “Mad Love” thirty-nine years ago, which coincided with a live concert special for HBO. Here, the band performs the smash hit “You’re No Good.” Bob Glaub’s buttery P-bass groove sits right in the pocket, and he even takes a tasty solo.

Darkglass Electronics Launches Two New Amps at 2019 Winter NAMM
Darkglass Electronics took to the Winter NAMM Show to unveil two new products in their line of bass amplifiers: The Alpha-Omega 900 and the Microtubes 900 v2. While the latter upgrades an existing model, the Alpha-Omega 900 is a brand new amp that pairs elements of their Alpha-Omega distortion preamplifier with a 900-watt power section.

In Memoriam: Jorge Casas
Jorge Casas, bassist for Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine, has passed away from undisclosed causes. He was 69 years old. Estefan shared the news on her Instagram page.
