After taking a vote from fans, Fodera has announced the next configuration of their Standard Special series. The Roasted Ash Emperor Standard Special will feature a beautiful roasted ash body matched to a 3-piece hard rock maple neck.

Strandberg was turning heads this year at the Winter NAMM Show as they unveiled the Boden bass. The instrument, which they say has been years in the making, is a headless design with an ergonomic body shape and multi-scale neck.

Eastwood Guitars has rounded out their signature series of instruments with Warren Ellis by introducing the Warren Ellis bass guitar model. Ellis, who works with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, worked with the company to add low end to his arsenal.

This week we’re checking out a bass from builder Adam Dolan of Dolan Custom Guitars. The UK-based luthier has been crafting his instruments for around three years, but his Proteus Legacy makes it look like he’s been at it for much longer.

Spector has expanded their Euro Series this year with three new models: The Euro LT, the EuroBolt, and the Euro4 LE 1979. Each of the basses is hand-crafted in the Czech Republic.

Ibanez is marking several milestones this year with anniversaries of their flagship models, and now they’re bringing back a part of their past from nearly 30 years ago. The new Affirma series of basses reintroduces the model that started their more unique designs.

Shinedown bassist Eric Bass has a new signature model coming out from Prestige Guitars this year. The instrument will feature an offset, double cutaway solid ash body with a one-piece bolt-on maple neck.

Eastwood Guitars has introduced the first bass to their Sidejack Pro Series with the Pro JM Bass. The instrument is a take on a vintage design that’s been updated in the playability department.

Reverend Guitars unveiled three new bass models at the NAMM Show this year with the Triad, the Raymond, and an updated version of their Decision. Each of the bolt-on basses is built with a five-piece roasted maple neck, korina body, and a boneite nut.

Spector has reintroduced its Performer Series of basses with the Performer4. The budget-minded bass features a nato body inspired by their flagship body shape.

Shortly after unveiling the Fullerton Deluxe line of basses, G&L has announced the accompanying Fullerton Standard Range, which also includes versions of their JB and LB-100 models. The new basses are also built in the company’s Fullerton, California shop but offer more standard finishes.
