Bassist Jan Urbanec is in a new band, and he recently shared one of their videos. North Innergy is a tech-prog-fusion band from North Bohemia. Here’s their tune, “Naked Truth,” which lives up to the band’s description. We’re looking forward to seeing more from these guys.
It has been a while since we were able to feature a new video by Jan Urbanec. That’s changing today with a new funky jam he created after getting a new bass (a Sandberg California II TM4). Jan sent us this video, saying “It’s been a while I made anything, so here goes…” Glad you’re back, Jan!
Jan Urbanec just sent me this video of a project he’s doing with percussionist Adam Koller. Jan humbly said, “I hope you’ll like it! Still unnecessary amount of notes, but…we had great fun with it.”
I received a note from bassist Jan Urbanec about a new video by the incredible duo he has with guitarist Shahab Tolouie. Of course, any time that happens, I can’t wait to check out what they’re up to with their “flamenco fusion” sound. As always, Jan’s note came with a little humor: “I know No Treble can’t be all about...
The last time we shared a video by guitarist Shahab Tolouie and bassist Jan Urbanec, it was a major hit. Jan has just shared a new one with us. The duo is really creating some unique music, which Jan describes as “flamenco fusion.” That’s as fitting a description as any for this performance of one of Shahab’s compositions, “EthnoBulerias.” Jan...
Jan Urbanec sent us a note about his new project, and a video to go along with it. The duo pairs the bassist with Shahab Tolouie. “It is a fusion of Flamenco, Persian traditional music and modern groove,” explains Jan. “Shahab comes from Iran, studied flamenco in Spain and lives now in Prague.” Jan once again plays his semi-acoustic fretless,...
Bassist Jan Urbanec shares the funkiest videos with us. (We encourage that behavior, by the way). Here’s Jan with guitarist/vocalist Zden?k Bína performing live in what the bassist describes as a “Two Man Groove Band”. Groove is right!
Bassist Jan Urbanec shared this cool jam video he did with percussionist Adam Koller. Love how these guys lock it in.
Warning: you’re about to experience some serious funkiness. The only problem, it doesn’t last long enough. Jan Urbanec is laying it down on his acoustic bass. He says he’s “…just messing around with one of my favorite grooves.” Oh yeah. And about that bass… I think it is a custom made archtop fretless acoustic, created by Procházka luthiers.
I’ve been following Czech bass player Jan Urbanec for many years now. As great as his videos are, they don’t have a lot of views. Maybe we can change that. Check out this cool acid jazz groove. Or as Jan calls it, “Just two grooves.” The only thing better would be if it was longer.
