Another one of the exciting developments at the 2020 Winter NAMM Show was the introduction of Ashdown’s range of bass guitars. The four new models are a collaboration with Dan Lakin, formerly of Lakland Guitars and currently of D. Lakin Guitars.

Neural DSP has so far released several plugins for modeling software. The company, founded by Douglas Castro of Darkglass, has now unleashed its first piece of hardware. The Quad Cortex is a unit they call the “most powerful floor modeler on the planet.”

Building on their line of Geddy Lee signature models, Tech 21 unveiled the Sansamp DI-2112 at the 2020 Winter NAMM Show. The pedal combines features from GED-2112 rackmount and the SanAmp YYZ.

Godlyke, Inc. was at the 2020 Winter NAMM Show to display two new pedals from Totally Wycked Audio (TWA): the Microchasm Octave Box and the Wahxidizer envelope-controlled fuzz. Each pedal is suitable for both bass and guitar.

Aguilar Amplification is celebrating their 25th anniversary with a limited edition run of their pedal lineup. The Silver Anniversary pedals come finished in the company’s silver and black color scheme with a special decal and commemorative package.

Aguilar Amplification has introduced its first micro pedal with the DB 925 Bass Preamp. Inspired by their DB 924, the new unit is al all-FET preamp with bass and treble boost controls.

MXR unveiled the Thump bass preamp at this year’s Winter NAMM Show. Based on the Echoplex preamp, the compact green pedal features a three-band EQ with a mid-frequency knob.

One of the most shocking pieces of gear we found at the 2020 NAMM Show was the AeroTech bass cabinet series from GR Bass. The lineup is described as the lightest bass guitar speaker cabinets in the world.

Taylor has expanded its GS Mini line with a new bass model. The GS Mini-e Koa Bass sports the same scaled-down body and string length as its maple predecessor, with some new features.

Gallien-Krueger has expanded its amp offerings with the new Fusion S series of heads. The hybrid amps have a tube preamp matched with a Class D power section. They also include a new first for the company.

EMG has expanded its lineup of signature bass pickups with the Robert Trujillo Signature “Rip Tide” Set. The Metallica bassist’s new pickups are described as a first with “stainless steel, black chrome caps to the world of the jazz bass.”

Genzler Amplification was at NAMM 2020 to unveil a new bass cab in their Bass Array line. The BA15-3 is fitted with a 15-inch driver with a vertical array of four 3-inch drivers, and more.
