Rock and roll icon Ian Hunter has revealed a new album for 2023, and it’s looking to be a star-studded collection of music. “Defiance Part 1” will include Duff McKagan, Robert Trujillo, Robert DeLeo, and more.

Metallica has big news to share. First up is a new studio album, “72 Seasons,” which is slated to drop in April 2023. They debuted the first single, “Lux Aeterna,” which clearly has an old-school Metallica sound. The band also announced a tour.

Ozzy Osbourne has followed up 2020’s “Ordinary Man” with another solo album, entitled “Patient Number 9.” On the low end of the frequency range are three monstrous bassists: Robert Trujillo, Duff McKagan, and Chris Chaney.

Brady Watt is a monster bassist, but he’s also a master of collaboration. His Bass & Bars series sees him teaming up with legendary hip hop artists. Now he’s aligned the rhythm sections of Rage Against The Machine and Metallica.

Prior to landing his current spot in Metallica, Robert Trujillo spent seven years touring the world with rock icon Ozzy Osbourne. Now the bassist and singer will be reunited again on Ozzy’s next solo album.

Metallica has returned with a new album and concert film of epic proportions. “S&M2” is their second live release alongside the San Francisco Symphony is taken from a set of concerts last year marking the 20th anniversary of the original.

Filmmaker Nick Wells has announced the followup to his popular bass documentary, “Beneath The Bass Line.” The sequel, “Turned Up To 11,” dives into some of the more outrageous gig stories and “Spinal Tap” moments from the world’s best bassists.

EMG has expanded its lineup of signature bass pickups with the Robert Trujillo Signature “Rip Tide” Set. The Metallica bassist’s new pickups are described as a first with “stainless steel, black chrome caps to the world of the jazz bass.”

“Seek and Destroy” is one of my favorite Metallica songs, so it’s nice to see they’ve kept it in rotation. This clip from Dreamfest is exceptional. Not only does the whole band kill it, Robert Trujillo does one of the craziest stage moves I’ve ever seen.
