Craig Martini has released his debut album, “Thought of Everything.” The bassist, who has performed with artists ranging from Phil Collen to Colin Hay, recorded the whole album using just his bass, his voice, and drum loops.

Singer/songwriter José James has released “No Beginning No End 2,” which serves as a sequel to his 2013 album on Blue Note Records. His fluid mix of jazz, pop, R&B, and soul remains intact, thanks in part to bassist Ben Williams.

Circles Around the Sun guitarist Neal Casal tragically took his own life late last year, one week after recording a new album. In a note, he asked that the band continue on and the album be completed. The band has honored his wish with their third studio album.

Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra recently honored legendary saxophonist Wayne Shorter with a new album featuring his songs. “The Music of Wayne Shorter” also features the prolific composer taking solos on all but one of the songs.

Bambara has released their fourth album, “Stray,” which NPR calls a “mesmerizing… western, gothic opus.” The band consists of twin brothers Reid and Blaze Bateh along with bassist William Brookshire, whose gritty, menacing bass drives the songs.

Lorenzo Feliciati returned to the studio for his new EP, “Rumble,” which is available now. The four-track release centers around the rhythm section of Feliciati and drummer Jason JT Thomas as well as the Koi Horn section.

Adam Booker has released his second album as a leader, entitled “Seven Last Words.” The album is a showcase for the dichotomy of his playing as it alternates tracks between two sets of music.

Double bassist Matthew Jamal has released his debut solo EP, entitled “Itinerant.” Featuring only sounds from his bass and voice, the songs are described as “rooted in Jazz harmony while maintaining a style that is indie, experimental, and classical.”

The psychedelic genre-bending trio Khruangbin has teamed up with vocalist Leon Bridges for a new EP called Texas Sun.
