Double bassist Ferdinando Romano has just released a new album called “Totem”, which features the extraordinary trumpet playing of Ralph Alessi. The record marks Romano’s first as a leader and contains eight of his original compositions.

Forty years after it took place, a classic Brecker Brothers gig is now available on a new album called “Live and Unreleased”. The recording catches the iconic fusion band at the Hamburg music club Onkel Pö’s Carnegie Hall, with Neil Jason on bass.

Lettuce has just released “Resonate”, which follows up on last year’s “Elevate”. Both albums were born out of the same fruitful recording sessions, though bassist Erick “Jesus” Coomes says they have different vibes.

Havok has returned with their fifth studio album, simply titled “V”. The Colorado-based thrash band says that the record brings their same level of energy with an evolved sound - and new bassist, Brandon Bruce.

Twenty-five years after his first album, Jan-Olof Strandberg has released his tenth album called “X”. The bassist describes his latest work as “more from the progressive world but at the same time some more Jazz is featured.”

Azusa has released their second album, “Loop of Yesterdays”, which follows up on 2018’s “Heavy Yoke”. The band consists of Dillinger Escape Plan bassist Liam Wilson, Extol’s Christer Espevoll and David Husvik, and Sea + Air vocalist Eleni Zafiriadou.

Michael Manring has just released an intimate new album called “Small Moments”, which marks his first solo bass album since 2005’s “Soliloquy”. The bassist recorded the songs live with no overdubs and minimal editing.

Joe Bonamassa’s new side project The Sleep Eazys have released their debut album, called “Easy to Buy, Hard to Sell”. The instrumental group is comprised mostly of the guitarist’s touring band, including bassist Michael Rhodes.

The duo What A Day has released their first full-length album, entitled “Open Spaces”. The group is comprised of bassist Jonathan Joly and vocalist Leah Gracie, who also mans the typewriter, calculator, telephone, and more to create percussion.
