From “Live from the Dome part IV,” here’s The Main Squeeze performing the Jimi Hendrix tune, “Little Wing.” Rob Walker is rocking the double bass on this one to kick this one off before switching to bass guitar (and then taking a sweet solo).

Julia Hofer is back with a new video. In this one, she breaks down the excellent bass line by Kelsey Gonzalez on John Legend’s new tune, “Strawberry Blush.” The transcription is included, so grab your bass and follow along.

Berklee dropped a video by Terri Lyne Carrington, Kris Davis, Linda May Han Oh, and special guest Ambrose Akinmusire performing “Rounds.” The song is featured on the group’s album, “New Standards, Vol. 1.”

Pat Metheny Group’s “The First Circle” is an all-time favorite song of mine. So I was blown away by this performance of it by the Florida State University Percussion Ensemble.

Leonid & Friends are gearing up for another tour in the US, and they just dropped their latest video. Leonid Vorobyev and the band are back to doing their thing with a cover of Chicago’s “Alive Again.”

I love every video Cory Wong puts out, but this one might be one of my favorites. Check out Cory (and others) getting blown away by Sonny T’s work. Sonny does it all.

Swatkins once again joins Scary Pockets for a funky cover. And while I’m digging the work of bassist Nick Campbell on this one, I’m also digging the horns. Here’s the group doing their thing on The Bee Gees tune, “How Deep Is Your Love.”

Gabriel Severn sent us this incredible video of his performance with Kernfusion for “In My Living Room,” which was recorded in August 2022. The story behind this is pretty awesome.

The Funky Knuckles have dropped a new video for their song “Next One,” which originally appeared on 2012’s “As Of Lately.” Composed by bassist Wes Stephenson, the 10-minute jam grooves with rich textures and outstanding solos.

It is exciting to see Aaron Gibson back in the studio. He’s starting to release videos from the sessions, which took place at Jackpot in Portland last week. Here’s “On Sunday.”

The wait is almost over. Snarky Puppy’s “Empire Central” is coming at the end of the month, and the band has just shared a new video from the session. “Belmont” was written by bassist/bandleader Michael League.

Brady Wyatt is back with another episode of Bass and Bars, and this time we have half of the legendary hip hop group EPMD, rapper Eric Sermon. The duo performs the hip-hop classic “Music.”
