Taylor Lee shared his latest bass player collab video, and it’s pretty insane. He wrote and arranged a tune and got a killer list of bassists to absolutely shred over it.

After sharing the exciting news about Richie Castellano’s The Band Geeks joining up with Jon Anderson for a tour, I’ve been looking for more. Here’s a video they shared in 2021 of the Geeks performing Yes’s “And You And I.” As always, they nailed it.

Jonathan Herrera posted this on Facebook with a two word comment: “You’re welcome.” Here’s a fantastic isolated bass and drums clip of D’Angelo’s “Chicken Grease.” Pino Palladino is a bad man!

I missed this video back in 2020, but I was glad Karl Clews reshared it on Facebook recently. Karl teamed up with drummer Richie Dittrich for this epic cover of Alain Caron’s “D-Code.”

In 2019, Quincy Jones was honored in Paris, with nearly 100 musicians paying tribute. In this clip, Marcus Miller and Richard Bona team up with Dirty Loops’ Jonah Nilsson on vocals to perform “Billie Jean.”

Lake Street Dive finished recording “Fun Machine: The Sequel” and went straight to The Sultan Room for an unannounced show. They just dropped their first video from the performance, with the band performing Carole King’s “So Far Away.”

Since Snarky Puppy dropped “Empire Central,” I’ve been listening to it a lot (and anxiously awaiting the vinyl to arrive). They just released another video for the session, with Michael League and the band getting down on the tune, “RL’s.”

Scary Goldings just dropped a new live video, and it grooves. Here’s the band, with John Scofield, MonoNeon, Larry Goldings, Lemar Carter, Jack Conte, and Ryan Lerman performing “We Come in Peace.”

The WDR Big Band dropped a new video in celebration of their new album, and the lineup is incredible. Steve Gadd, Eddie Gomez, Ronnie Cuber, and Bobby Sparks joined the band to perform the Wilton Felder tune, “Way Back Home.”

WFUV shared videos of the Marcus King Band rocking the Rockwood Music Hall in September. Here’s one of my favorite videos from the set, with the band performing “Blood on the Tracks.” Bassist Stephen Campbell keeps it rolling on this one!
