One of my favorite bass players, Frank Brunot, has released a new single entitled, “Friday Night.” I really love the catchy melody line. There is also a really nice breakdown with a Wurli solo.

Over the years, we’ve featured some amazing videos by Miki Santamaria and Fernando Lamadrid, but never together. That changed with this bass duet of “Haiku”. This is about as stunning a performance as I’ve seen.

No Treble reader Robert Brian Gross has been making the most of his downtime and sent us a groovy video he recorded. Here’s the tune he named “Shelter In Place Bass”. Dig that tone!

No Treble reader Shane Hendrickson sent us this video, and we were so impressed. Here he is with drummer Jayson Brinkworth and Kirby Barber (on guitar and mandolin) performing a beautiful arrangement of Emmylou Harris’ “The Maker”.

Cory Wong has a new album coming out on October 29th. Here’s the band performing “Assassin”, from “The Paisley Park Sessions”. Sonny T is featured big on the tune, and he lays down a monster groove behind a band that is just on fire.

Jason Matthews posted this stunning cover video on Facebook, and I had to share it. In this clip, he nails Jaco Pastorius’s “Continuum”. He even recorded it the way Jaco did back in the day.

Scary Goldings sent us the first single from their upcoming album, and it’s a killer song by a killer lineup. That lineup includes MonoNeon, John Scofield, Louis Cole, Larry Goldings, Jack Conte, and Ryan Lerman.

We love it when No Treble readers send us videos. We also love the work of Bobby Vega. So this one was twice as exciting. Klemens Cathcart sent us this video of him and Alex Tabero performing Vega’s “Gosh”.

We’ve featured some impressive young musicians over the years. Usually, they’re bassists. But today, it’s drummer Yoyoka. Yoyoka celebrated her 12th birthday with this session, recording a cover of Deep Purple’s “Burn”.

Richard Bona joined with pianist Alfredo Rodriguez’s band for this live performance at Jazz à Vienne 2021. Here they are performing “Ay Mama Ines”, with Bona on bass and vocals.
