Ellen Alaverdyan has been busy lately, and she’s just posted another groovy video. In this clip, she plays along to “Disco Daddy” by Yousician.

I love Sugarshack Sessions videos, and this one really stood out. In episode 871 of the series, Big Mountain performed Eagles’s “Hotel California.” I love their arrangement, as well as the bass work by Mikey Ortiz.

Martin Miller and his band are back with a new video, this time covering another classic tune. The band was joined by guitarist Mateus Asato on Tears for Fears’ “Head Over Heels.”

Chris Agar sent us the new Made On Tape video, and it is excellent. Tim Lefebvre plays both the main and lead basses on “Brain Surgery.”

Jojo Mayer’s Nerve recorded at The Bunker Studio in December 2019. The videos for that session were originally released for Patreon supporters, but they’ve been sharing them publicly this year. Dig the sounds on “Mindwash.”

During one of the NAMM shows, I was chatting with Evan Marien about his work with drummer Dana Hawkins. Evan told me that Dana was not only a great drummer, he was also a phenomenal bassist. Here’s proof.

I love all the videos Cory Wong puts out. This Tour Vlog is enjoyable from start to finish. The band runs through Earth, Wind & Fire’s “In The Stone” followed by Antwaun Stanley’s “Where Are We Now” during the soundcheck.

KEXP is a regular source of new music for me, and I’m really digging this performance by High Pulp. The band, with Kaeli Earle on bass, performed at THING Festival. Here’s “Solanin.”

Any set that starts off with a teaser of “Portrait of Tracy” will get my attention. In Jordan Ward’s Tiny Desk Concert, that’s what happened, with the smooth bass lines of Jermaine Paul.

Jack Bruce had a unique sense for bass lines and ended up creating some of the most iconic riffs in rock history. The late bassist’s YouTube channel released this archival clip of him playing and singing “Politician” on his own, allowing fans to see how he did it.

In this video posted to The Beatles’ YouTube channel yesterday, the story behind “the last Beatles song” (out today) is shared. All told, this story spans over four decades, and it is pretty amazing.
