For many years now, we’ve had a great holiday tradition, thanks to Steve Bailey. Steve sent us this year’s Berklee Bass Department holiday video. This year’s Mashup features Steve along with Bakithi Kumalo, John Patitucci, and Victor Wooten.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays from all of us here at No Treble! Keeping us in the holiday spirit, we have the masterful Scott Devine doing a solo bass arrangement of the classic, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”.

Tony Senatore has shared his latest song with us, called “The Adventures of Bassyk”. It’s the third song from the bassist with collaborators Andy Rothstein and Alan Lo Presti, who are this time joined by violinist Joe Deninzon and drummer Cottone.

Our friend Huw Foster sent us his latest video, with his beautiful solo bass arrangement and performance of The Beatles’ “Mother Nature’s Son”.

Our friend Pete O’Neill sent us this video for this holiday season. In this clip, Pete takes the popular Christmas standard, “Christmas Time Is Here”, and performs it as a beautiful solo fretless arrangement.

Thundercat took part of the Adult Swim Festival last month. During his set, he was joined by Ariana Grande for a performance of the bassist’s tune, “Them Changes.”

Just in time for the holidays, Pomplamoose has recorded a mashup of Vince Guaraldi’s “Christmas Time Is Here” and “Linus and Lucy” from “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” And for an extra holiday treat, Nick Campbell is on double bass. Grab a cup of hot cocoa and enjoy.

Any time I see a new video from Berklee Indian Ensemble hit, I stop what I’m doing to watch it. This clip once again features vocalist/bassist Sharon Renold with the Ensemble, performing her original composition, “Aakash”.

As we approach the Christmas holiday, it’s only fitting that I share one of my favorite videos: The 4 Korners cover of “Carol Of The Bells”. Bassist James “JT” Thompson serves up a tasty groove with buttery fills while locking in the pocket.

Our friend Derek Frank sent us his first video of a series he recorded live at Palomino Sound in Los Angeles. Here’s the band performing “Irregardlessly” from Derek’s latest album, “Eleven Years Later”. I dig the vibe on this new record!

Lorna Thomas shared this video on our Facebook group, and we loved the creativity. In this one, Lorna teamed up with Rosan Asmussen for a cover of Vulfpeck’s “Dean Town.” They put together an incredibly entertaining video with it.

You can always count on Leonid Vorobyev and his band, Leonid & Friends, to share some epic covers. Here’s their latest, with a cover of Chicago’s “Just You ‘n’ Me.”
