Tower of Power rocked the 2013 NAMM Show with an incredible performance on Thursday, January 24th. It was so good to see Rocco Prestia moving and grooving with the band, which was tight, tight, tight.

Andres shared this highly unusual video with us of Pedro Aznar playing his bass with a screwdriver. Yes. A screwdriver. Andres said “the song is called ‘Muñequitos de papel’, which literally translates to ‘Little Paper Puppets'”.

Our Facebook friend Samwise Fair suggested we check out the song “The Hunter” by Swedish progressive rock band Beardfish. The tune features a bubbling and driving bass line from Robert Hansen, who lays down the low end on a J-Bass. He also has some fancy footwork that only a bassist could do.

I’m not sure how I stumbled onto this video, but I’m sure glad I did. Gentle Giant’s “Free Hand” is already an awesome song, but add bassist Ray Shulman’s ballsy tone and energetic performance to the mix, and it’s a home run.
