Will Lee dropped a new video yesterday, saying, “Turn up the volume & feel the positive vibes of ‘Hey Shorty.’” This song has a groovy, Steely Dan vibe, with Will on lead vocals and a great sax solo by David Sanborn.

Victor Wooten and the Wooten Brothers kicked off their fall tour yesterday, and they also dropped this new video. Here’s their official video for “SWEAT.”

The multi-instrumentalist known as KNULP is back with another incredibly impressive cover. She takes on Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” in this one, handling the vocals, piano, guitar, bass, and drums.

Charles Berthoud took the Bill Withers hit, “Ain’t No Sunshine,” and turned it into a spectacular solo piece for acoustic bass guitar.

I always get excited when I find a new bassist to check out. If you do, too, then you need to watch this. “Aprieta” is from Vincen García’s debut album, “Ventura.” The bassist leads a full band from the bottom with blazing bass lines punctuated by ghost notes.

Aaron Gibson shared another video of his in-progress songs. The music of his youth inspires this one, and it is a beautiful solo bass and vocals tune.

South African music is almost always anchored by a joyous, exciting bass line. Shane Cooper celebrated one of the styles in his composition “Kucheza,” which he performs here with his band Mabuta.
