Bass Videos - Page 98
Zander Zon: Numb
Zander Zon first arranged Linkin Park’s “Numb” for solo bass 10 years ago. Now he’s revisited it for his latest video.
Frowin Ickler: Cold Heart (PNAU Remix)
Frowin Ickler sent us his latest video, and it is a ton of fun. Frowin added his own funky line to Elton John’s and Dua Lipa’s single “Cold Heart (PNAU Remix)” on his Fender MonoNeon bass. Dig his funky retro sound!
Vulfpeck: Miracle
Vulfpeck dropped the video for the 10th track from Schvitz, and this is my favorite so far. Joe Dart lays down an old school groove behind some great vocal harmonies on “Miracle.”
The Band Geeks: Wasted Years
The Band Geeks just dropped their latest video, and this time they’re upping the irons. Joined by Matt Beck on guitar, the Geeks take on Iron Maiden’s “Wasted Years,” with Richie Castellano on bass and backing vocals.
Kinga Glyk: The Governor
Kinga Glyk premiered this video yesterday after watching a documentary on Joe Zawinul. She was so inspired, she learned “The Governor” from Zawinul’s “Soulmates” album with Ben Webster.
Nicolas Meier (with Arran McSporran): Shooting Stars
Arran McSporran shared this video on Facebook recently, and I have been enjoying it ever since. This clip by Nicolas Meier features some stellar fretless work by McSporran on “Shooting Stars.”
Barend Tromp: Cause We’ve Ended As Lovers
Our good friend Rob Waxman shared this video on Facebook yesterday, and I was mesmerized by the performance. Barend Tromp pays tribute to Jeff Beck in this clip, playing “Cause We’ve Ended As Lovers” on 6-string fretless bass.
Tedeschi Trucks Band (with Steve Berlin): I Am The Moon
I am thoroughly enjoying Tedeschi Trucks Band’s “I Am The Moon” records, so it was a thrill to see the band drop this video. Filmed at Red Rocks on July 29, 2022, here’s the band joined by Steve Berlin of Los Lobos, performing the title track.
Playing For Change: Tantas Tierras
I love everything about Playing For Change. Their videos, and their mission, are inspiring. Here’s their latest, with Manu Chao performing “Tantas Tierras” with Wailers drummer Carlton “Santa” Davis, bassist Gambeat, and other musicians from nine countries.
Cory Wong: Synchronicity
Cory Wong’s live videos are always entertaining. Here’s a clip of the band performing “Synchronicity” with Ripe’s Robbie Wulfsohn on vocals. This one has a twist, though, with Sonny T taking on the guitar duties while Wong gets down on bass.
Leonid & Friends: Did I Hear You Say You Love Me
Leonid & Friends is known for their great covers, including many by Chicago. But they take on the work of other artists too. They just dropped their latest, with Leonid Vorobyev’s band performing Stevie Wonder’s “Did I Hear You Say You Love Me.”
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young: Almost Cut My Hair (Live 1974)
I was sad to learn of David Crosby’s passing. CSNY was a big part of the soundtrack of my youth, and I spent the evening watching their videos. Here’s a great clip of the group performing Crosby’s “Almost Cut My Hair.”
