Gear Watch: Fodera Yin Yang Standard Bass

Fodera Yin Yang Standard BassFodera has introduced the new Yin Yang Standard bass, based on their Victor Wooten Yin Yang Deluxe. The company consulted Wooten on the creation, as he has “long wanted a Yin Yang that could be more widely available.” The bass utilizes all the same materials and specifications from their Brooklyn-made instrument with a lower price point.

The Yin Yang Standard features a Red Alder body with a flame maple top painted with the yin yang symbol. The bolt-on neck is a single piece of maple with an ebony fingerboard and pearloid dot inlays and Mother-of-Pearl side position markers. Electronics include EMG P/J pickups and a Fodera/Pope NYC 3-band preamp with the NYC control layout.

The Fodera Yin Yang Standard bass is available for a list price of $4,750. The company is currently accepting deposits on their website, and will begin shipping to customers in July, 2011.

  1. I’m a Wooten fan. But $4750 is ‘more widely acceptable?’ Yikes. But I suppose you get what you pay for.

  2. SKip

I agree, now Fedora can donate me one and get a man on the street review but I don’t see that happening any time soon.

  3. excelente bass muy bonito me gustaría tener uno bass como fodera yin yang.
