Kim Deal Releases First New Solo Song in a Decade

The Breeders frontwoman and former Pixies bassist Kim Deal has released a new single called “Coast,” marking her first new solo music in a decade. Deal wrote the song in 2020 and recorded it in 2022 with engineer/producer Steve Albini, who passed away in May of this year.
Deal is joined by her sister Kelley on guitar, Lindsay Glover on drums, and former Breeders bassist Mando Lopez holding down the low end.
“Here’s the first of many new songs off the upcoming Kim Deal album,” Lopez wrote on Instagram. “This is the jam (“Coast”) perf for the season. Stoked to be a part of Kim’s solo project!”
“Coast” is available now on Bandcamp, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and more.
