No Treble’s 2025 Reader Favorite Bassists: Paul McCartney Rises to #2

We’re up to number two on our list of No Treble readers’ favorite bassists of 2025, and it’s one of the greatest of all time.
Paul McCartney fans were treated to a new book on the story of Wings, a North American leg of the “Got Back” tour, and a documentary on his long-lost (and recently returned) Höfner bass.
No Treble contributor also broke down “Goodnight Tonight,” calling it Sir Paul’s “funkiest bass line.” Add a vintage Beatles performance and a cameo in Spinal Tap II, and the former Fab Four bassist jetted all the way to number two.
