Squier Releases Matt Freeman Precision Bass
Rancid bassist Matt Freeman now has his own Squier signature Precision Bass, modeled after his favorite personal bass. Freeman explains that “[it] is a ’77 P Bass that I picked up in 1987 for, like, $400 when I was in Operation Ivy. I went all over the world with that bass. And I still have it and I actually play it on all the Rancid records.”
The Squier version of his bass features a contoured basswood body with a maple neck and fingerboard. Hardware includes knurled Chrome Dome control knobs and a HiMass bridge with four brass barrel saddles. Available in Black or Vintage White finishes, the Squier Matt Freeman Precision Bass will have a street price of around $349.99.
