Bass of the Week: Anaconda Crusher Standard CX5

Anaconda Crusher Standard CX5 Bass

Facebook is great for discovering new and beautiful instruments. Our friend Russ Sargeant posted a picture of this fantastic Anaconda Crusher Standard and I was hooked. Built in England, the hand-crafted bass has some nice curves for ergonomics and aesthetics.

The Crusher comes in several flavors, with the Standard version offering all of the most important features in a clean package. It comes fretted and fretless versions, each of which is created with 5-piece bolt-on Canadian Rock maple neck with wenge stringers. Its body can be ash or swamp ash with the option of a French Lacewood top.

Pickups include a pair of Bartolini P45CBC’s that can be switched between series, single coil, and parallel modes. Anaconda matches them with a Glockenklang 3-band EQ that can be switched into passive functionality. The hardware includes Wilkinson Lightweight tuners and a Sung Il bass bridge.
