Ibanez Introduces Artcore Vintage Basses at NAMM 2016
Ibanez gave their Artcore line of basses a rustic turn this year with the Artcore Vintage Series. The semi-hollowbody, short-scale basses come in distressed finishes to give the vibe of an old workhorse instrument, right down to the antiqued pickup covers.

Each of the models is built with a maple body, which the company says balances out the “boomy” quality of typical hollow body instruments with more clarity and articulation. Other common features include a pair of Classic Elite pickups and Sure Grip knobs in a deep honey finish.
The series starts with the AFBV200A. It’s set apart by a an ART-1 wooden bridge, vintage tailpiece, and raised pickguard. The AGBV200A drops the pickguard and switches the bridge to Gibraltar III system, while the five-string version AGBV205A model utilizes an Artcore Custom 5 bridge.
The Ibanez Artcore Vintage Basses are shipping soon with prices of $599.99 for the AFBV200A and AGBV200A and $649.99 for the five-string AGBV205A.
