Reverend Guitars Announces Meshell Ndegeocello Fellowship Bass in New Finish
Four years ago, bassist Meshell Ndegeocello teamed up with Reverend Guitars to unveil a signature instrument called the Fellowship Bass. Now the jet black instrument will be available in a new red, black, and green color scheme. Ndegeocello chose the design in honor of Lumumba, the African leader credited with freeing The Congo from Belgium in 1960. A portion of the proceeds from bass will go to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture, which currently houses a prototype of the model.
The specs of the bass remain the same with korina construction, Hipshot Ultralight tuners, a lockdown bridge with string-thru and top-load options, and a five-piece neck. Its pickup is the Reverend P-Blade, which the company describes as capturing “that classic p-bass character, but with increased volume, sustain, clarity, and extended low-end response.”
