Dunable Guitars Introduces Chris Whetzel Signature R2 Bass

Chris Whetzel with Signature R2 Bass

Dunable Guitars has unveiled a new signature bass with Power Trip’s Chris Whetzel. The thrash bassist has been playing their R2 bass for several years, so the L.A.-based company constructed the new axe around the model.

“We decided to stay consistent with his last few builds and do a mahogany body with a maple neck,” they write, “this time with black binding and black block inlay, and load it with a D-Split pickup, volume and tone control, and upgrade to Hipshot Ultralite tuners and a Hipshot Kick Ass bridge, and finish it in a thin vanilla white polyurethane matte finish for maximum resonance, and a mint guard, along with a custom Chris Whetzel logo on the back of the headstock.”

The Chris Whetzel Signature R2 Bass comes with a 35-inch scale that Dunable says lends itself to heavy music. Hear it in the mix in this demo:

The Dunable Chris Whetzel Signature R2 Bass is available now for $2,450.
