Jaco Pastorius and his Word of Mouth Big Band perform “Reza” live at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles, California on January 10, 1982… nearly 30 years ago now. This followed the release of his Word of Mouth album release in 1981. Jaco takes a great solo during the tune.

  4. Jaco’s style of bass playing reminds me of Miles Davis and Jimi Hendrix. They all played a very unconventional style of music that challenged our understanding of what music is and what it is supposed to sound like. I respect the talents of all these men but I must confess… their styles are over my head. To my ear, their music lacks a descernable rhythm and flow.
