ESP Introduces Frank Bello Signature and LTD FB-4 Basses

ESP Frank Bello Signature Bass

ESP has unveiled a pair of new Frank Bello Signature basses at NAMM this year. The new ESP Frank Bello Bass and ESP LTD FB-4 models are based on the company’s Vintage-4, but customized to the Anthrax bassist’s liking. Both versions share the same specifications, though they are built in different factories and carry different price points.

The new Bello basses follow a dark color scheme with a black satin finish, black anodized aluminum pickguard, and an ebony fingerboard with black pearloid block inlays. Featuring a 34” scale, the basses sport an alder body and a bolt-on maple neck. Both models also include a set of EMG PJ-X active pickups with Master Volume, Blend, and Master Tone controls.

The ESP Frank Bello and LTD FB-4 Basses will be available soon with street prices around $1,999 and $949, respectively. For more info, check out the ESP website.

  1. wow. fender keeps loosing their artists. first stu hamm, steve bailey, now frank bello. who’s next? Marcus?

  2. Is it just me or are ESP’s signature basses even more pathetic than the players themselves?

  3. Never really been into ESPs and LTDs (cept Fords LTD II from the late 70s >_> LOL). It looks nice but it doesn’t look like it feels nice in your hands to me. I’m more a Peavey, Rickenbacker, Yamaha, Fender lowender myself.. yea, there’s a combination of axes for you and got examples of each in my stable. Rock on!

    • I’m not sure you can get a sense of how an instrument feels in your hands from a photo, but it just looks to me like it’s shaped similar to a p-bass. I’d be more than willing to spend 15 minutes with one and see how things go, though…

  4. I played both Fender and ESP and still do….The fender I have is a DR-4 that is 20yrs old and kicks butt!! Mainly all my main basses though are ESP.
