Remi Zik: Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” Playalong
Sometimes you find a video on YouTube that reminds you how much you need to practice, and bassist Remi Zik has raised the bar with this virtuosic rendition of Eminem’s “Lose Yourself”.
With extreme attention to detail, Zik nails the tune’s bass line. We can only imagine he worked up a sweat on this one.

Jokes aside: his time is fantastic. I don’t know too many players who can actually do this, for this long, without rushing, dragging, or inserting slight “hiccups”. The fact that he keeps doing things with his left hand is funny; yes, but it takes a great clock to do that without making the right hand suffer. The best part about this is that it’s actually quite impressive.

Guys… I think we need to focus more on the bass and its true role in music. These crazy technical solos like Remi did there are amazing of course, but there is a limit. I see lot of running around the fretboard, but no heart in it…. just saying….
