Atoms For Peace Announces 2013 Tour Dates

Atoms for Peace have announced a world tour for 2013 in support of their debut album, AMOK. The group, which is comprised of Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea, producer Nigel Godrich, drummer Joey Waronker and percussionist Mauro Refosco, will be in full force as they take the stage starting in Europe. The tour continues in the Fall with U.S. and Mexican tour legs, finally wrapping up with a trio of performances in Japan.

“So far this year, Atoms For Peace has been about me + Nigel [performing] in clubs in some of our favourite capital cities,” Yorke wrote in an email. “But this week, Joey, Mauro and Flea all become free from their other projects and we start rehearsals together as a full band. Touring proper starts in July – the last time we did live shows together was at Fuji Rock nearly 3 years ago..”

Yorke included a link to the band playing “Judge Jury and Executioner” live at Fuji Rock. The music retains a lot of Radiohead’s sound while Flea lays down a sparse-yet-infectious groove.
