Warwick Unveils 2014 Limited Edition Fortress Bass
Each year, Warwick releases the latest in their Limited Edition series of basses, and this year the company has announced the 2014 Limited Edition Fortress Bass. The model, which comes in 4- and 5-string versions, is limited to only 100 instruments in the world.
The bass is built around a swamp ash body with a stunning 3/8″ birdseye poplar top and matching headstock. Its wenge neck is accented with a birdseye maple fingerboard. Warwick fitted the bass with a pair of Nordstrand “Fat Stack” pickups and active MEC 3-way electronics. The controls are laid out with a stacked volume/balance knob, a treble knob, a push/pull midrange knob that toggles the mid-frequency between 250Hz and 800Hz, and a bass knob.
Hardware includes a 2-piece brass Warwick bridge, a Just-A-Nut III brass nut, and Warwick machineheads. The bass is finished in Nirvana Black.
The Warwick Fortress LTD 2014 will start shipping in April with street prices of $3,850 for the 4-string and $3,999 for the 5-string.

The woods are very cool. The look of the instrument looses something (in my eye) with the color of the hardware though.
