Aubrey Harris Releases Debut Mini-EP

Aubrey Harris: Self Titled EPLongtime No Treble readers will probably recognize the name of Aubrey Harris. When we first shared one of her videos, she was just 13 years old and went by the name BassGirl5809. She was inspired to pick up the instrument after watching Tal Wilkenfeld play.

Now she’s studying at the Berklee College of Music and has released her debut self-titled mini EP as an artist and songwriter.

The record, from the 19-year-old Harris, blends the bassist’s love of pop music with her jazz roots.

“I feel that these songs tell a lot about who I am, or was, at a specific time in my life. I’ve been at Berklee College of Music in Boston for two years now and have been doing a lot of self-discovery both musically and emotionally,” Harris said. “There’s been a lot of ups and downs being at school and as a young adult in general. The songs on this mini EP share the downfalls, the bad decisions, and also the times of pure confidence that we find within ourselves when we least expect it.”

  1. The world does not yet know the roots and background of this girl. Her musical heritage is as strong as anyone who has lived. Her grandfather was a world class drummer and arranger, her dad is a talented and sought after drummer/musician and her studies have been extensive. I expect her to become a star.
