DC-based post-punk band Priests have returned with “The Seduction of Kansas,” which marks their second full-length release and sixth album in total. The band continues their politically-leaning themes, starting with the album title.

Elephant Gym: Audiotree Live Performance
Elephant Gym performed in Chicago last month for Audiotree Live. The band is described as “an instrumental math/post-rock trio with heavy jazz and classical influences.” Bassist KT Chang’s presence in the band is strong, with some fantastic playing and technique.

Periphery has returned with their fourth album called “Periphery IV: Hail Stan.” It marks the first release since Adam “Nolly” Getgood left the official ranks of the band, though they hired him back on to record the bass lines.

LEH Guitars Launches the Offset 4-String Bass
LEH Guitars has launched their new flagship bass called the Offset 4-String. Built by luthier Lisa Ellis Hahn, the instrument features an offset alder body with a maple burl top and “strategic chambering in the body to reduce weight and prevent neck dive.”
The Marcus King Band: Goodbye Carolina
I love it when there’s a new video by The Marcus King Band. In this clip, the band performs “Goodbye Carolina,” which is backed by bassist Stephen Campbell. The tune starts out soft and sweet before the band kicks things into a nice groove.
Matt McJunkins Releases “Intruder” with The Beta Machine
Matt McJunkins has released a new album called “Intruder” with his band The Beta Machine. The bassist, who’s also known for his work with A Perfect Circle and Eagles of Death Metal, formed the band with drummer and APC bandmate Jeff Friedl.
